Marie was raised near Weston, Oregon. She graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology with degrees in accounting and small business entrepreneurship. She is also certified in financial planning and analysis. Marie served as staff accountant with Dickey & Tremper, LLP, in Pendleton, Oregon. She joined Threemile Canyon Farms as staff accountant before serving as financial controller. Next she became financial planning and analysis manager. Marie recently began working for Umatilla Electric Cooperative, Hermiston, Oregon, as manager of accounting. She is a board member and current secretary of the executive board for REAL Oregon (Resource Education Agricultural Leadership). Marie has served in an advisory capacity for various Morrow County committees.
She has a passion for volleyball and was recently selected head coach for Weston McEwen High School volleyball. She previously served as head volleyball coach for Riverside High School, Boardman, Oregon. Cain and her husband, Jacob, live in Athena with their two children.
