EverFi Financial Literacy Program to local high schools
The bank offers this program at no cost to eastern Oregon high schools in Heppner, Ione, Boardman (Riverside), Irrigon, Condon, Arlington, Ukiah, Fossil (Wheeler), Spray, Mitchell, Moro (Sherman), Long Creek, Monument, Dayville, John Day (Grant Union), Prairie City, Crane, Burns, Joseph, Enterprise, and Wallowa, Oregon. We look forward to working with these schools and their districts to making the EverFi experience rewarding for their students.
“We’ve found the EverFi program to be an excellent way to supplement the teaching of financial literacy skills to high school students and decided to make an additional investment in the education of students in our rural communities beyond our current programs,” said Jeff Bailey, President and CEO of Bank of Eastern Oregon. “Our exclusive licensing of the EverFi product will be available for the 2012-2013 school year for high schools in Morrow, Gilliam, Wheeler, Sherman, Grant, Harney, and Wallowa counties, 21 schools in all.”
EverFi is a perfect fit for Oregon high school students' economics course, and helps students meet the Department of Education's “lifeskills” objectives -- and in a fun and engaging way," states Mike Fee, EverFi Western Region Vice President. The EverFi curriculum has been developed in cooperation with educators nationwide, and to date, more than three million students have completed EverFi learning platforms.
