Alycia Jenkins

On June 10, 2011, Alycia Jenkins was driving to rodeo practice to prepare for the state rodeo. While driving by the Lava Beds near Diamond, the pickup traveled onto the shoulder of the road where she attempted to correct causing the pickup to roll end-over-end several times until coming to a stop. Even though she was wearing her seatbelt, she sustained severe brain trauma, both lungs were punctured and collapsed, her left arm was shattered, her right arm was broken, and she also cracked several ribs. She was lifeflighted to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon.

On October 31, 2011, they transferred Alycia to Boise, Idaho, to the Elks Rehab Center, where she is today.  This was an adjustment to a new place and different therapists. The Elks Rehab Center has a swimming pool and her Bend rehab doctor is excited about the benefits the water therapy could be for Alycia's healing. Alycia is the daughter of Rich & Renee Jenkins of Diamond.  For more detailed information on Alycia’s recovery, go to http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/cowgirltuff
